Understanding Navigation
When you're setting up your online store, you should think about how you want customers to find your products and information about your business. This will help you to make decisions about your online store navigation. After you add products and create collections, webpages, store policies, or news posts, you need to organize them on your online store so that customers can find them.
Before you jump in, feel free to watch our quick Sprint TV episode where were dive into Menus, Page, and Collections.
You can view and change your online store navigation from the Layout Tab in your Run Free Project admin.
Default menus
The main menu appears on every page of your online store. The main menu is usually displayed as items across the width of the header; unless it becomes too wide, then it will default to a vertical stacked mobile menu system. A customer will probably look at your main menu to find your products and information about your business.
By default, your storefront has a few main menu items: an auto-populated Category Dropdown and an optional Digital Gift Card Link. You can choose to hide this default and show a personalized menu system customized to your liking.
Add, remove, or edit menu items in your online store
You can add menu items to your online store menus to build your store's navigation. Menu items are links to products, collections, pages, news & event posts, policies, or other websites. You can also remove or edit menu items.
In most cases, you need to create an item before you can link to it. For example, you need to create a collection before you can add it to a menu.
