We all know that everyone loves a good deal. Incentivize your customers with custom coupon codes and discounts for any occasion.

Navigate to Manage Inventory > Coupons to add/edit/delete/import online coupons.

Adding/Editing a Coupons

Tap the "Add New Coupon" button, or select edit in the action menu, to pop the Coupon Detail Modal.

Coupon Preview

The coupon preview window provides a rough English-language description of the Coupon you're creating. This preview will change as you adjust Coupon settings.

Start by entering a Coupon Code Name. The Coupon code name is the promo code your customer must enter at checkout to activate this specific coupon.

Next, choose a Coupon type.

Coupon Types & Discount Options

Percentage: Offers a percentage off of the item(s) that your Coupon code applies to. Simply enter the percentage digits in the "Percentage of Coupon" field under Coupon Options.

Fixed Amount: Offers a specific dollar amount (based on the default currency chosen in Store Settings) off of the price of the item(s) that your Coupon code applies to. Simply enter the dollar value in the "dollar amount" field under Coupon Options.

Free Shipping: Offers free shipping to the destination country you select for the item(s) that your Coupon code applies to. Use the "shipping to country" drop-down field under Coupon Options to select the destination country.

Buy X Get Y: Offers your customers the ability to get y quantity of selected item(s) free if they purchase x quantity of another item(s). This coupon type can apply to specific products, categories, or a combination of the two.

A specific product example might be, I want to be able to offer my customers 1 free pair of Balega socks if they purchase 3. The image below shows the configuration for this example:

Conversely, a category-based Coupon might be, I want to be able to offer my customers 2 free clearance items if they purchase 2 pair of shoes. The image below shoes the configuration for this example:

Minimum Requirements

The Minimum Requirements section allows you to define minimum thresholds that must be met for this Coupon code to apply.

There are three options for setting minimum requirements, you may choose one:

None: Choose when there is no minimum threshold for this item.

Total Cost: Choose when the total price of the items in the customer's cart must be at least the amount you set in this field for the Coupon to apply. For example, I don't want this Coupon code to work for anyone spending less than $50, therefore, I would set "Must Spend At Least" to $50.00.

Items in Cart: Choose when the customer must have at least the number of items you set here in their cart for the Coupon to apply. For example, I don't want this Coupon code to work for anyone with fewer than 5 items in their cart, therefore, I would set "Must Be Purchasing At Least" to 5.

Coupon Applies To

The Coupon Applies To section allows you to choose the specific customers, specific brands, and/or specific categories this Coupon code will apply. Choices in the section are optional, so you can skip it entirely if your Coupon applies to all customers, all brands, and all categories.

You may choose any combination of the three by checking the field next to each in the section. There is an AND relationship between options in this section. For example, if I select "specific customers" and choose Steve Jobs, "specific brands" and choose Brooks, and "specific categories" and choose Footwear, my coupon will only apply to Steve Jobs (and no one else) and only if he buys Brooks Footwear. This example configuration is shown in the image below:

Coupon Excludes

The Coupon Excludes section allows you to exclude specific customers, specific brands, and/or specific categories to which this coupon code will apply. Choices in the section are optional, so you can skip it entirely if your Coupon code doesn't have any exclusions.

Exclusions Override Inclusions: If you create rules in the "Coupon Applies To" section, you may also create exclusions in this section. Any exclusions created here will override rules you entered in the "Coupon Applies To" section. For example, if I create a rule that says my Coupon applies to footwear, then create an exclusion for Brooks, customers will be able to use this Coupon on all footwear except for Brooks footwear.

Note: The Additional Options section at the bottom of this page allows you to toggle the exclusion of sale items and/or Relay items.

You may choose any combination of the three by checking the field next to each in the section. There is an AND relationship between options in this section. For example, if I select "specific customers" and choose John Smith, "specific brands" and choose Asics, and "specific categories" and choose Kids Footwear, my coupon will only exclude John Smith (and no one else) if he buys Asics products in the Kids Footwear category. This example configuration is shown in the image below:

Usage Limits

The Usage Limits section is optional and allows you to limit the number of times this coupon code can be used, either by an aggregate of all users or on a per-person basis. For example, if I only wanted to allow my coupon code to be used 10 times in total, I would configure it as shown below:

If I wanted to limit the number of times the coupon could be used per customer, I would choose "Per Person" in the Maximum Usage Per drop-down. For example, I want to allow any customer who shops in my online store to use a coupon code a maximum of 3 times, and after that, it won't work for them, but will still work for anyone else who hasn't yet used it 3 times, I would configure it as shown below:

Active Dates

The Active Dates section allows you to set start and end dates and times for coupon validity. This is an optional section, and if you choose to leave it blank, the coupon will be effective immediately and will never expire. In the example below, the coupon will be valid from 1:00am on January 1, 2021 through 6:00pm on March 20, 2021.

Additional Options

The Additional Options section allows you to quickly toggle "Exclude Sale Items" and "Exclude Relay Items" on or off for this coupon. The configuration in the image below will allow the coupon to be used on items marked as "on sale", but will not allow the coupon to work with Relay items.

Import Coupon

Many stores create individualized coupon codes for campaign tracking purposes. To accomplish this, you can tap the import button and use the supplied template to upload a comma-delimited CSV file (typically created in apps like Microsoft Excel) with multiple coupon codes and settings in bulk, saving you a lot of time and effort.
