Congratulations!! If you're reading this article, then you've decided to become a Run Free Project member. We are so excited to have you aboard!

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a big part of a successful online presence. To maximize your SEO and to ensure optimal site performance, you will point a subdomain from your website to the Run Free Project servers.

Take a look at the video below to better understand why we have you do this and the simple steps to make it happen. If you need help, click the blue chat icon in the bottom right corner of your screen, and we can go through these steps for/with you in real-time.

To make your online shop easy to find for your customers, we recommend using the word shop before your current web address. (Example: shop.yourstorename.com)

We want to make this transition as seamless as possible for you, so below you will find step-by-step directions on how to set this up:

1. Login to the admin area of your store's website host (e.g. GoDaddy, Wix, etc.) and find Manage DNS. This will most likely be in the Settings or Advanced Settings sections.

2. Once you are in the Manage DNS section, you will click Add. In the Type field, choose "A". In the Host field, input the word shop.

3. Now it is time to point shop.yourstorename.com to the Run Free Project's servers. Simply enter the Run Free Project IP Address (208.75.64.82) in the Points To section as shown below.

The TTL field can remain at the default (typically 1 Hour), so you don't have to mess with that.

4. Click Save

5. With your A record set, shop.yourstorename.com should point to our servers at 208.75.64.82. It's a good idea to check that everything is set properly, just to be sure. To do this, open your web browser and go to https://mxtoolbox.com/DNSlookup.aspx

Input your new subdomain name (shop.yourstorename.com) into the Domain Name box and click DNS Lookup.

If the numbers in the IP Address box match the IP Address we asked you to to point your A record to (208.75.64.82), then you have successfully completed this step!

We're thrilled you have chosen us to help you succeed online! We are here for you every step of the way; if you have any questions, please reach out to us using the blue chat icon in the bottom right of your screen.
