How the Search Filter Works

The search function currently searches for exact matches within the following fields:

  • Product Name

  • Category Name

  • Brand Name

This means that search results are based on exact words or phrases found in these fields.

Why Some Products May Not Appear in Search Results

Since the search filter relies on exact matches, certain variations in wording can affect search results. For example:

βœ… Searching for "pant" will return results for products named "pants".
❌ Searching for "pants" will not return results for products named "pant".

At this time, the search filter does not automatically account for singular vs. plural terms or keyword variations.

Future Enhancements

We recognize the need for more flexibility in search functionality. Our team has discussed expanding search capabilities to include SEO keyword tags, which would allow for better optimization and improved searchability. While this feature is not currently available, it is on our roadmap for future improvements.

What You Can Do Now

For now, ensuring that key terms are included in the product name, category name, or brand name is the best way to improve visibility in search results.
